On November 2016, El Rey Netherlands started discovering what the best combinations per cocoa type are to come up with beautiful recipes. We are also active with tastings where we combine Venezuelan rum, dessert wines and different types of coffee with cocoa types. We hope to provide a unique and creative chocolate experience based on single bean chocolates.

Single Bean Origin

 

While blending is a time honored tradition, exploring the use of a single type of cacao is the new frontier in chocolate making. Having access to regional varieties of Venezuelan cacao of exceptional quality and flavor complexity, El Rey chooses not to blend. El Rey prefers to let the land do the talking and to allow the intrinsic qualities of select Venezuelan cacao to take centre stage in its unique premium chocolate covertures: Rio Caribe, Carenero Superior, San Joaquin and Sur del Lago.

An exceptional chocolate starts with the land, but it takes the art and science of man and a long journey from plantation to glistening factory to turn a humble heap of cacao beans into a luscious chocolate bar. We are proud to produce single origin chocolate made with cacao of the highest quality. Our products are made with distinct cacao types from different regions of Venezuela.

Pure and aromatic; Icoa is produced from pure cacao butter, that is 55% cacao beans and therefore has the rich taste and aroma of cacao.

CAOBA

 

Smooth and fluid; Caoba has an enticing cacao aroma and notes of caramel and nuts thanks to it's high cacao content, one of the highest on the market.
